Okay lets start positive, gt5p looks great, plays good, have the best dashboard I’ve ever seen for a racing game on a seventh generation gaming console, but the game still lacks a lot of features that other games panning from sixth generation to even the seventh generation racing games have, First of all One of these features is the 360° camera which should be embed to the Right Tumb-Stick instead of just look right / left feature that can be enabled into any of the ps3 controller buttons.
Second feature that the series is still missing is more camera angles, even though they have released the old Gran Turismo 4 Replay cameras the game still have a low amount of camera options, I know this post wont make Polyphony change their selection of cameras for gt5p *update* or GT5 but its worth a shot, the game still has no CLOSE camera for any of the cars only Far > farther > further > street > dashboard. No need to be a a Nancy Drew but why did Polyphony digital waste 4-5 months PER-CAR so that we can only drive the car from its back at a long distance and not be able to view it in 360° while driving?
Third Feature: Bad car self-lighting and self-shading, yeah the chubby car enthusiast in Beyond the Apex says the car lighting is real but I say differnt the cars are too dark and add a Far only option for the main camera and that makes the cars look really bad even on a 1080p HD.
Fourth Feature: Photo Mode, YES its finally out in the open the game has never had a good photo mode unless you count that fake 2d background thing they had in GT4 ad a photo mode, this feature is not expected by all racing games that feature exotic cars and such… PGR 2 or 3 Had it first, Forza 2 had it second, NFS Carbon had it third, few other games gave it a try and failed (GT4).
*Lost unrelated feature: Tuning Gran Turismo was one of the first games to include full tuning of at least 76% of all cars in the game and that was very impressive, but now the expect 900+ cars game will only offer few pre-tuned cars and a spoiler and rim shop for the game and that is it.*
