Well it seems that neither Sony nor EA Games were able to get their greedy hands on the license of F1, which I’m kinda glad, F1 CE for PS3 looks good, plays great, but has a-lot o issues, and missing realism, I can’t wait for Codmasters F1 Game to be released and see how its going to look, hopefully as good as Dirt and GRID, IF NOT BETTER!

Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. (SCEI) decided to go with something simple, yet addictively fun when they thought up the concept of Echochrome for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.

During the latest post on the PlayStation Blog made by the game’s Associate Producer, Kumi Yuasa, she announced that the free demo of Echochrome will become available tomorrow for both the PSP and PS3 platforms.

The demos will introduce players to the game through a brief tutorial as well as give them a basic idea on how to go about solving the different puzzles. Both versions will feature 56 exclusive levels, with the possibility of additional downloadable levels to follow in the future.

To help entice people with the game’s innovative gameplay, a new video was featured on the site, showing off the five different laws of perspective the game flaunts. Anyway, we hope you enjoy the video below:

We’ve seen the Dark Knight in a number of reports recently (this writer’s latest waking nightmare) and well, while we like seeing Batman in his many incarnations, we like to take sneak peeks at his enemies too. We saw Harley Quinn in screenshots and now Traveler’s Tales has released a new video for their upcoming video game, Lego Batman: The Videogame (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP, and PC) featuring The Riddler and Catwoman.

In Lego Batman: The Videogame, we’ll be seeing the villains The Riddler and Catwoman with their respective weapons (the question mark cane and the whip) and as we can see from the trailer, they’re not afraid to use them. The feisty feline and the OC wordplay enthusiast have fun and individual animations, and well, they’re out to spread some chaos in Gotham City.

Homebrew developer momochi_zabuza’s has updated Al-Quran for the PlayStation Portable, the homebrewed Islamic religious reference archive compiled for the Sony handheld.

The main change for this release is the addition of the French translation of Al-Quran, letting French speakers enjoy the vast resource of Islam and Muslim literature. Here’s the capsule changelog for your reference, courtesy of the ‘brew developer:

5. the big thing is, a French translation.

US sales of video game consoles and software have grown 57% over the past year, defying the economic downturn.

Consumers snapped up consoles, games and accessories worth $1.7bn during March, according to research firm NPD.

Nintendo’s Wii came top with 720,000 units. Microsoft sold 262,000 Xbox 360 consoles, ahead of Sony’s PlayStation 3 which found 257,000 customers.

“You’d never know the US economy was under distress by looking at the sales figures,” said NPD’s Anita Frazer.

The NPD Group has released its March 2008 U.S. video game sales numbers. As usual, the Nintendo DS and Wii took the lead on hardware sales but this time, Nintendo’s home system also sold more units than the combined sales of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Furthermore, the Wii outsold Nintendo’s own DS, which in previous month was the top selling system.

Additionally, the top selling game of the month was Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

US Hardware Sales for March 2008:

With only a couple of weeks to go before Rockstar Games’ flagship title Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) goes out, a couple of rumors regarding the title’s release has once again popped up. Neogaf forum poster Skip (a.k.a. Andrew Pfister, writer of 1UP’s GTA 4 preview) revealed that the upcoming game will have a five-minute mandatory install time for the PlayStation 3 version.

It was further revealed that the installation for the Xbox 360 version of GTA 4 is a completely optional feature. Unfortunately, there’s been no confirmation from Rockstar whether this will make it in the final version of the game when it ships to retail stores.

In addition, word from CVG’s GTA 4 special feature has it that the Xbox 360-exclusive downloadable content for the game won’t just contain the odd car or additional skins. The DLC will supposedly contain an area as significant as Vice City or San Andreas. Should this rumor be true, it’ll definitely extend playability for the Xbox 360 version by leaps and bounds.

We only have less than two weeks to go before the release of Grand Theft Auto 4, so we might as well wait and see how Rockstar decides to play out its cards until then. In any case, make sure to come back to this spot for more updates regarding this much anticipated title.
