After Microsoft confirmed that the Dashboard Fall update for the Xbox 360 will be arriving this December 4, the news spread like wildfire across the community. Xbox video games being available via download also fanned the growing anticipation of Xbox 360 owners.
However, it seems that the return of the classics wouldn’t be as glorious as expected (at least, not yet) because of several technical issues. In fact, the official Xbox.com website came up with a list of probable problems with Xbox Originals yesterday.
For those wondering if the games will have additional features, Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) released a statement saying that Xbox Originals will have no Achievements and Gamerscore. Here’s what he said:
The answer is no. These are the original games that were created before Xbox 360. In order to preserve the integrity of the original gaming experience they provide, they will have the features available at the time of their initial release. I hope that clears that up.
I know it’s probably not what you wanted to hear, but I thought it would be best to get clear up an misunderstanding up right up front. I’ll talk more about it on my show this week. Would it have been cool? Sure it would but as many folks have noted, for a variety of reasons it’s just not possible.

Founder Notes: I think this is just a moded PSP with a Custom XBM, it looks very fake and seems to just try to make fun of the “Blue Screen of Death” and the “Bungie logo” is cut off on the sides meaning its a video off Halo 2.

10. Chow Yun-Fat plays the role of Inspector “Tequila” Yuen, a character from John Woo’s 1992 action movie Hard Boiled. A special edition will be available on the PS3 which contains both Hard Boiled the movie on Blu-Ray and Stranglehold the game on a single disc.
9. Enemies in the game feature 27 “death zones” which trigger different death animations. This he can be easily seen during the slow mo pinpoint attack special move. I have no idea what the 27 locations are.
8. The developers wanted to focus on the action and not on ammo and item collecting, therefore the default guns (I believe Dual Berettas) have infinite ammo.
7. The environments are pretty much fully destructible with buildings, walls, tables, stairs, and various other objects exploding in a blaze of gunfire.
6. Certain objects in the enviornment will glint letting you know you can shoot them down on top of enemies. These range from street signs to chandeliers.
5. Your character fully interacts with the objects around him. For instance, side stepping into a table will cause your to kick your legs up and slide across it. Sidestep into a railing and you’ll hop on over it.
4. There are hidden origami birds located throughout the game that unlock special things. No word on how special or what “things” are though.
3. John Woo loves doves. This is evident by every John Woo movie ever, and it’s even evident on The Official Website.
2. The game feels like the first true successor to Max Payne. It features “Tequila time” which slows down time ala Matrix/Max Payne. The developer claims to have implemented this in multiplayer too. The trick? By making it shorter and more rare as well as slowing everyone down it becomes more of a special attack.
And last not least Number 1. As you perform stylish maneuvers your special meter goes up. This allow special attacks like a fury of gunfire, pinpoint damage, and the “John Woo Special Attack” in which the main character goes all slow mo, does 360 spins with guns blazing and unleashes white doves from his jacket. I told you John Woo loves doves.
